Accommodation in Padstow is plentiful, ranging as it does from hotels to bed and breakfast. Expect to pay anything from £25 per head to £120 per head. Look around, some with splendid views of the harbour and estuary are not exorbitantly priced. Once installed in a cosy place, explore the culinary delights of the area.
Padstow itself has six pubs, all of which provide a fine selection of good wholesome pub grub at attractive prices. Two pubs opposite each other in Llanadwell St vie every year for the best flower displays, making a delightful view up the street, photographed by thousands.
Some of the restaurants provide accommodation in Padstow, though these tend to be at the more expensive end of the market. The famous "Seafood" restaurant is one of those and no doubt the top restaurant in Padstow, but by no means the only delight.
Its sister restaurant, "Steins Cafe", is a much cheaper option - great fun and you can eat outside if you are lucky with the weather, as you can at "The Basement." Another light hearted fun place to eat is "Custard", and perhaps best of all "Margots". Beware - this one will need to be booked very early, even months ahead in season. Small restaurant, short menu, delicious!
If you manage to to sample all the restaurants whilst in accommodation at Padstow, you might try further afield. Jamie Oliver has a "15" restaurant overlooking the beach at Watergate Bay twenty minutes away , and if you care to take a drive to St Ives, only an hour away, not only will you spend a pleasant day shopping but you could have lunch at the superb Porthminster Beach Cafe, right on Porthminster beach. Not too expensive and what food, what a setting!
